Studio Policy
Legal Disclaimer
Please review this Studio Policy as it sets out the rules that my studio has established to make the learning experience beneficial for all students. These rules are part of the contract you have with my studio. While I know that unexpected events may arise that necessitate an exception to these rules, I reserve the right to determine when to grant any such exception.
Scheduling and Missed Lessons
When you register for lessons you are paying me to spend time, outside of our one on one sessions, crafting your individual lesson plan, thinking about the students musical progress, as well as reserving a specific time slot in my schedule for the week/month. Since specific time slots are reserved for specific students and cannot be scheduled for any other activity, my studio does not give credits, refunds, or make up lessons for lessons missed by a student. If a student or parent expects to miss a scheduled lesson, I offer online sessions as well as an option to submit a video lesson for that week.
Lessons are conducted during any available time slot on the instructors calendar either online or in the students home or practice space.
The instructor will arrive at least five minutes prior to the start of the lesson so that the student is ready when the lesson time begins. A tardy student will be given only the time remaining in the student’s scheduled lesson period.
Lessons WILL be held on days when there is a school holiday or public holidays, unless I am contacted by the student to reschedule.
For weather-related cancellations, I will offer a virtual lesson at your
regular lesson time.
If I’m sick or otherwise unable to attend a lesson, I
will offer a make-up lesson (if available) or apply a lesson credit to your
next invoice.
Payment Options
Trial Lesson: trial lessons are free but are limited to two per student per calendar year
Per Lesson: The fee for a 30 minute lesson is $35 and the fee for an hour lesson is $60. Payment will be required on my website prior to the start of the lesson.
Monthly Payments: My saving plan: the Monthly Lesson Bundle includes four lessons each an hour long and will be paid in one monthly installment of $220. The monthly payments are due by the first day of the month. Payments not made by the fifth day of the month will incur a late penalty of $10. No lessons purchased through the lesson bundle will be provided during the month unless the entire monthly payment has been made prior to the start of the month.
Canceling Lessons
Pay per lesson students can simply stop scheduling and paying for lessons on the website. Please note that, due to my studio policy, you will not receive a refund for any lessons that have already been scheduled in the current calendar month.
If a monthly Lesson Bundle student decides to discontinue taking lessons from the studio, the studio requests at least one-month advance notice. No refunds or credits will be provided for any pre-paid lessons should a student decide to stop taking lessons in the middle of the month. In addition, any scheduled make-up lessons will be cancelled with no refunds or credits provided. All unpaid fees must be paid prior to termination.
Miscellaneous
Parent Attendance at Lessons: The studio encourages parents to attend and quietly observe lessons for their children. The studio does reserve the right to exclude a parent if the teacher determines that the parent’s presence is disturbing the child or impeding his or her progress.
Photos and Video: In my studio we do not record photo or video during lessons. Any video lessons submitted will not be shared or posted anywhere and will be deleted from my library after I respond to the lesson.
